Product Review: Hydroxatone & Bellaplex
I came across an online ad for Hydroxatone - risk free trial for 30 days and only pay $1.99 shipping. The online reviews sounded fabulous except for a few which warned that it was a scam. Well, some said it's better than botox so I had to try it for myself.
Here's my experience and hopefully this can help someone else who is on the border line of trying out this so called "risk free" trial.
Cost Upon Arrival:
I ordered the trial for Hydroxatone and Bella plex. Both came separately and I had to pay roughly $30 each for duties, so $60 in total. What a terrible start.
Product:
One of the Bellaplex pump was broken so I had to dip my finger in the container to try. I didn't like the texture or the smell. The cream seemed to just sit on my skin and didn't work for me.
Hydroxatone on the other hand worked really well at first. My skin soaked it up immediately.
It didn't get rid of lines like some of the reviews claimed, however, it did make my skin feel soft, moist, and supple. I continued to use this for about a month. After a while I did find that my skin was breaking out and since then I've stopped.
Returns:
I called the customer service line from my cell phone and I kept getting someone hang up on me. So I called from another number and reached a service agent. He was very helpful and gave me a return number for the Bellaplex. He talked me into keeping the 2 jars of Hydroxatone for a fee of $59 which since I liked the product and would have to pay $30 to ship it back anyways, I'd go for it.
As directed I packaged and shipped the jars back with the return number provided and thought it was the end of it.
More Billing:
Their accounting department must be really messed up because I started seeing monthly charges on my bill for the autoship program. It was very frustrating to see this on my bill; however when I did call in to complain, they did rectify it by returning the funds to my card.
Bottom Line:
Bellaplex didnt' work for me. Hydroxatone is good, but not like botox as it claims. As a daily regime, Hydroxatone is very rich for me and I started to break out. Do expect to pay duties! I was extremely disappointed about this as I purchased a trial product. Further more, don't be surprised if there are billing errors and that you are still billed after you return the product. They did however, refund me the over charges.
I received my shipment of these products yesterday, Aug. 27th, and refused them due to the charges from Customs, which I was not told about. I have informed them of my return via email and have placed their names on a protected list from my credit card company. DO NOT BELIEVE THE AD
ReplyDeletethanks for the warning! I ordered it but haven't received it yet. Called the bank to cancel my card
DeleteOMG I too have been duped! Can somebody tell me where I locate the customer service no.
DeleteCustomer Service is 1-888-621-4043.
DeleteI didn't even get a chance to try it because it came a month after I ordered it and they right away charged my card for 140.00 and then they sent out the other order which I will be stuck with. Hurry and cancel it right away.
I too applied for the 30 day free trial offer, I had an allergic reaction to the Hydroxatone, to be honest I'm quite allergic to a lot of face products, I had only used it 3 or 4 times, I couldn't find a phone number and when I eventually did inadvertently called America, spoke to a company rep who was very nice, told me not to worry about returning the product and there would also be no charge, I have emailed them this evening as this didn't sound quite right, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this is the end, but I'm not counting my chickens yet, Karen
DeleteHi Karen,
DeleteI'm in the same situation - Just cancelled the order and the rep told me not to worry about returning the product. Did they ever end up charging you? Would love to hear from you as I agree - It doesn't sound quite right! Thanks, Natalie
I have also just cancelled, spoke to a lady called Andie in the states. I used the Australian number on the bottom of the Bellaplex statement that came with the order. As soon as she picked up the phone she knew my name without me saying anything. I intentionally have not opened the products and I have asked to return them. Andie was a bit annoyed with me and ask me to at least give them a try. I didn't want to be billed for used products at all and I told her I had just changed my mind and I wanted my 'program' to be cancelled. Just like above, she assured me that this willb e the case. She gave me a couple of cancellation ID numbers (one for Bellaplex and one for Luminique). I asked her if I can return the products, but she said I don't need to and I won't hear from them abale...like Karen I am not counting my chickens and am not going to open the products. I have kept notes on the conversation, times, dates and names as well as the ID number quoted. I think I might try them via Ebay though, where I won't be chased and my credit card details are not kept.
DeleteI called the number on the Bellaplex statement that came with the product(s) at the bottom of the order, is was the Australian number which put me through to Bellaplex in the USA straight away. I spoke to a lady called Andie. I told her I didn't want the products (bellaplex and Luminque) and asked how to return the try it before you but it programme samples. Andie was a bit indignant and tried to talk me into trying them before I ask to return. I told her I changed my mind and I just don't want them anymore. After a few 'robust' words with Andie, she finally backed down. She quoted me a return ID for each of the two packages received and told me I won't get billed or receive any further packages. Like Karen, I am not counting my chickens but I hope it works out. I have taken down thorough notes, names, times ID numbers etc in the hopes my order is truely cancelled. Andie told me to keep the products and they don't need them back but I think I might try Ebay however and keep these products unopened in the event I want to return them at any point.

ReplyDeletethanks for your feedback! Yes, it's important for other consumers to know what they are getting into.
ReplyDeleteTHANK YOU.
ReplyDeleteThank you for this, as I was on the verge of ordering it.
ReplyDeleteI reached their customer service line to stop autoship and they were open and helpful. Autoship sends WAY more product than you need. Make sure that you do not sign up for autoship.
ReplyDeleteI have not tried bellaplex but did try hydroxatone. The product definitely tightens skin, but so far has done nothing for smile lines. There is no advice on HOW to use both hydroxatone and bellaplex. One after the other? Which first? One in the am and the other in the pm? What?
I am pleased I didn't order! I was very close to ordering though after viewing a site with many before & after shots etc. The reviewer (with amazing results changing her from a frump to teenager) said you had to use the hydroxatone in the morning and the bellaplex at night.
DeleteHi, I am from Quebec, Canada and I have the same problem with Bellaflex I can not find the phone number for customer service? And of course no adress to return the product...So If some of you have the phone number or the good adress to return the cream I will appreciate very much.
ReplyDeletethank Linda

DeleteBellaplex and Hydroxatone are affiliated and the same rep helped me with both orders.

i ordered both for the trial, only got bellaplex yesterday 2 bottles, and havent got the hydroxatone yet. did you get 2 bottles or is this part of the scam
ReplyDeleteI received my products separate shipments and was charged duties for each shipment. I hope this helps.
DeleteI tried numerous times to cancel my order with them however products still continue to turn up and I was being charged until I cancelled my card. A lady called Samantha on their customer help line assured me that she would sort the shipping out, however more products still turned up.
ReplyDeleteThe product gave me severe dermatitis and I never have skin problems. This is a scam for sure. They claim it is made in New Zealand, however I am from New Zealand and the product is always shipped from the States.
I have tried numerous times to contact the company via their website and through my personal email account. All I ever receive is their automatic response message back, they have never contacted me however this is what they quote.
Bottom line, if it sounds too good to be true it probably is.
Hi
ReplyDeleteI have also ordered a free trial yes, both products (bellaplex and Hydroxatone) -
I found the "customer self care service" (in blue) - it is in the bottom of the page in Hydorxatone web site. I hope this link works - below
http://hydroxatone.com/?login=no
As soon as go here, a floating box appears
then type in your post codes and Invoice number (in your receipt) even if you ordered free trial you will have a receipt Invoice number
There is a "cancel" section, seconds from the right column
If you go there you can stop auto shipping.
and other options for next shipping etc.
I don't know if this is any help to anyone nor it works it is still early stage. I have ordered mine in 18 Nov.
I am crossing fingers to see what will happen with my bank account. by the way I am from Aus.
I too have been absolutely scammed. I thought I would trial both products for 1.99 and have now been charged $70for each product. Does anybody know how we can report this hoax of a company
DeleteThank u..great to see blogs like this..I was about to order as it said trail finish today..then thought I should check to see if there other reviews than ones listed on site..ended up having to reset my tablet due to new windows opening..despite closing all tabs... saying congratulations enter password for free trial and reduced shipping..now available in New Zealand and made in New Zealand..in NZ if you come across site like this you can email consumer NZ..they will investigate for any breaches..
DeleteThis is really common with a lot of companies where they fail to tell you there will be large customs or extra shipping charges, as well as the ongoing monthly billing. You will be lucky to see ANY of your money returned period.
ReplyDeleteSECONDARY WARNING; It's not just "No Name" sites like this, beware of Joan Rivers cosmetic site. I lost over $120 that I'll never see again.
Doesn't matter how famous, there always seems to be a risk with some sites.
I had the same bad experience with Bellaplex and Hydraxaton. Firstly, misrepresentation took place when I though I order only free samples with small shipping fee, and it turned out that I had to pay for the kit $69.00. Secondly, they started "renewing" my order and charging me automatically without me even knowing it. I would like to warn everyone: stay away from those sneaky guys - once you give them your billing info, they'll start charging you before you even know. The company should be sued for unethical business!
ReplyDeleteI must be the only person that likes the product and has had no issues. Yes they renew your order automatically and that is par for course with consumable internet sales. IM actually happy, no issues, no problems and I like the product., no unexpected charges or customs fees. I live in Australia. Sorry to hear so many people have had trauma with their purchase. I feel for you.

Finally i got rid of her, bu am still interested in trying these products. Can anyone help where can i find an honest supplyer Australia preferably
ReplyDeleteI ordered the "free trial" in March.
ReplyDeleteI received one delivery and was charged $165.18 NZD on March 31 then on April 15 was charged $18.80 for the "free trial".
I was charged a further $166.98 on April 30 at which time I called the centre to find out why I had been charged only to be told that the "fine print" says that unless you cancel after the trial the deliveries and charges would continue.
The product charge came through before the "free trial" charge.
The product did not work for my wife at all.
This is dishonest "marketing" of a dubious product.
